Background

BKN International AG (with the BKN standing for "Bohbot Kids Network") was a German company formerly founded as the international division of Bohbot Entertainment, an animation production company founded by Allen J. Bohbot, and based in Germany.

Bohbot Entertainment ran a syndicated television block in the United States called "Amazin' Adventures", which began in 1992, and mainly consisted of shows created and or produced by Bohbot, but also featured third party programming from DIC Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television (in the case of Extreme Ghostbusters and the second and third seasons of the Jumanji animated series). In 1997, the block was renamed as the Bohbot Kids Network (BKN), and by then had begun to air on FOX, UPN, and WB Affiliates until 2000 (it also aired nationally for a brief time on Sci-Fi, now Syfy). The parent company soon renamed itself to BKN, Inc.

In 2000, BKN International separated from BKN, Inc. and became a public company. They eventually acquired all of their former parent company's assets in 2001, in order to produce more in-house programming available for broadcast to various networks around the world. On January 17, 2001, Sony Pictures Family Entertainment Group acquired 3.8% of the company. In 2009, BKN International AG went into insolvency, and it's assets were soon acquired by Allen Bohbot's new company - 41 Entertainment. In 2019, the BKN brand name was revived as BKN Entertainment, a division of 41 Entertainment created in order to control the ex-BKN International assets.

1st Logo (1989-1990)

Logo: Against a teal/black background with a series of dark blue bars and dots moving past, a white rectangle with a silver frame turns into place, which has the text "Bohbot Entertainment, Inc." written on it in dark blue. The words shine one-by-one, and the byline "A Bohbot Communications Company" fades in below.

FX/SFX: The bars, dots turning, and shining.

Music/Sounds: A high-pitched techno tune.

Availability: Extinct. Only known to have appeared on Ring Raiders.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (1989-1992)

Logo: On a lavender gradient background, we see the words "Productions, Inc." on the screen, with "Bohbot" swinging in from the right. It bounces in place as it stops turning. The byline "A Bohbot Communications Company" is shown below.

FX/SFX: "Bohbot" turning into place and bouncing.

Music/Sounds: A light synth tune with a "slam" sound or the end theme of the show.
