Canwest Global Communications was a major Canadian media company based in Winnipeg. It held radio, television broadcasting and publishing assets in several countries, primarily in Canada. Canwest entered creditor bankruptcy protection in late 2009, leading to the sale of the company's assets. Canwest's newspaper arm was sold through a newly-formed company Postmedia Network. The television arm was sold to Shaw Media on October 27, 2010. Following the sale of assets, the company has ceased to carry on business, and will commence bankruptcy proceedings.

Logo: On a white background, a white honeycomb-like shape with a blue outline appears, with some of the hexagons flashing green. Then all the hexagons except for seven disappear and the remaining ones move a bit to the 3D side view. Five white cells light green, forming a C shape inside, and the remaining two cells remain white. The word "Canwest" wipes at the right side in the corporate font and "Produced in association with" fades in above. Copyright info often appears below.

FX/SFX: The cells flashing and moving a bit.

  • There is a logo where the name was written below the cells as "Canwest Media" in two lines.
  • The still version is common.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Was seen on several TV series, like Haven and Kenny vs. Spenny (the sixth season). The "Media" version appeared on a few TV-movies, such as Christmas Caper. No longer current since CanWest went bankrupt in 2010; any further productions have the Shaw Media logo.
