Background: AWE Productions, Inc., also known as AWE Games, is an American video game developer founded in 1993 by James M. Wheeler (although their website retroactively states they were founded in 1992 based on his resume). The company has developed more than 70 games and owned the licenses for PC games based on Agatha Christie and SpongeBob SquarePants. They have not been active since 2010 and it is believed that the company is now defunct.

1st Logo

(2001)

Nicknames: "The Plankton Logo", "Plankton Reads A Magazine", "Plankton's Magazine", "Not What You Think"

Logo: On a black background, we see Plankton (voiced by Mr. Lawrence, from SpongeBob) reading a magazine. The magazine has a picture of Sandy (also from SpongeBob) on the back cover. Plankton turns two pages of the book. He then gets surprised, turns the magazine sideways, and an insert with the company logo (but in the typical Spongebob font, which is in orange and red.) and two sea creatures (similar to the ones from the episode "Rock Bottom") on it falls out of the magazine. The front cover of the book has the words "Bikini Bottom" on it. Plankton turns the insert sideways and it zooms in until it covers the whole screen.

FX/SFX: Plankton's movements, the zoom in.

Music/Sounds: First, we here Plankton say "Yes!". When he turns a page, a page turn sound is heard and Plankton says "This stinks". When he turns another page, another page turn sound is heard and Plankton says "What?!" A few page turn sounds are heard when the insert falls out. When the insert zooms in, Plankton laughs.

Availability: Only seen on SpongeBob SquarePants: Operation Krabby Patty. The PC version however, uses the next logo below.

2nd Logo

Logo: On a black background, the letters A and E slide in from the sides and a 4-pointed star glows in for a second. The letters stop, and a W wipes in vertically from both directions, and a reflection appears below the logos, causing them to move up. Few seconds after the reflection appears, G and S appears from it's sides causing "GAMES" to form. "AWE PRODUCTIONS INC.", in blue, also appears below the logo via "blur" effect.

Variant: On Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius for PC, the logo is still.

FX/SFX: The parts of the logo sliding in, the reflection forming, the byline blurring in. Simple animation.

Music/Sounds: An deep electronic tune.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On SpongeBob SquarePants: Employee of the Month, we hear a bouncy tropical tune.
  • The still version is silent.
