1924-1926

Logo: A circle with a drawing of Liberty holding an olive branch and the shield. "COLUMBIA PICTURES CORPORATION" is seen in front of the goddess.

Note: Starting in 1925, "CORPORATION" is dropped from the text. The box is now a circle, the goddess has been redrawn and "COLUMBIA PICTURES" is arched and is surrounding the circle as a border.

1926-1932

Logo: A circle with a different looking torch lady drawing holding a non shining torch with CP on it. A ribbon surrounds the lady and on the bottom of the lady is a passage saying "GEMS OF THE SCREEN". "COLUMBIA PICTURES" is arched in the circle.

1932-1936

Logo: Once again there is a circle, but this time with a different drawn torch lady. The torch is shining with lines as shadows. Stars appear on the bottom of the Lady, and "COLUMBIA PICTURES" is arched in the circle with 2 stars on the left and right sides.

Notes: Starting in 1933, The torch lady is moved a little to the right. The rest of the logo remains the same but lacks the 2 stars on the sides.


1936-1938

Logo: Simply a drawn version of the Columbia Pictures logo of the era

1938-1945

Logo: We see the torch lady in a circle, rendered in a simple line drawing style with the words "COLUMBIA" and "Pictures" above and below respectively in an outer circle.


1945-1964

Logo: A drawing of the torch lady with a banner saying "Columbia" circling its legs. "Pictures" is next to the banner.

Notes: There is a version with just the torch lady.

1964-1975

Logo: The word "COLUMBIA PICTURES" with a torch being held by a C.

Notes: There is a version with just the C and the torch. Sometimes, it is in credit.

1975-1981

Logo: Same as the movie logo, but colored black.

Notes:

  • The words can sometimes be stacked.
  • Sometimes, "Industries, Inc." can be placed next to the words.

1981-1992

Logo: A detailed drawing of the torch lady with the sunburst behind her inside an box with the circular top. "Columbia Pictures" can be seen below.

Notes:

  • Sometimes, the logo can be inverted.
  • Starting in 1988, the box is removed.

1992-1993

Logo: Similar to before, but the torch lady has been redrawn without the box surrounding her and the wordmark is in a different font on the left, with "A COLUMBIA PICTURES RELEASE" and a copyright notice below it.

Notes:

  • Sometimes, the logo can be inverted.
  • Sometimes, there is only a copyright notice under the wordmark.

1993-

Logo: A box is seen with the cloud cutting out of it with the redrawn torch lady inside. "COLUMBIA PICTURES" is seen to the left of the box.

Notes:

  • Early on, the company name can be seen horizontally below the box with the Sony Pictures Entertainment byline.
  • The torch lady can have parts be inverted (the drape becomes transparent).
  • Starting in 2013, the byline "a Sony Company" appears below the print logo.
