1912-1914
Logo: The word "Paramount" in an early version of the famous script in front of a crown with the word "PICTURES" written on the crown's band. The Latin motto "IN EXCELSIS" ("In the highest") appears on a banner below.
1914-1917
Logo: A drawing of a mountain surrounded by 29 stars with clouds below and the words "Paramount Pictures" in a script font.
1917-1967
Logo: Same concept as before, but this time with a smoother, less detailed drawing and a different wordmark script. Also, the number of stars has been reduced to 24.
Trivia: This logo is based on a design by William Wadsworth Hodkinson, who combined the companies of Adolph Zukor and Jesse Lasky into Paramount.
1967-present
Logo: Similar to the above two logos, but this time the mountain is depicted as negative space within the circle and there are no clouds around the mountain. Also, the only words seen on the logo (aside from one of the bylines below) are "Paramount", and the number of stars has been reduced to 22.
Bylines:
- 1967-1989: A Gulf+Western Company
- 1989-1995: No byline/A Paramount Communications Company
- 1995-2019: A Viacom Company (used in the 1990 "Wigga-Wigga" font until 2010, when it was switched to its 2005 font)
- 2019-present: A ViacomCBS Company
Variants:
- A version with a bolder "Paramount" script exists, which was used as the studio's main print logo from 1996 to 2010.
- For the company's 75th anniversary, the mountain's abstract folds are replaced by the text "75th Anniversary" and the byline is placed underneath it.
- For the company's 90th anniversary, only two of the mountain's folds are visible as the text "90TH ANNIVERSARY" are seen on the mountain and the byline is shifted down.
- For the company's 100th anniversary, the Paramountain was redrawn to match the current movie logo, and the text"100 years" is seen underneath.
