Touchstone Interactive

From CLG Wiki

Background

Touchstone Games was a short-lived publishing brand of Disney Interactive Studios. Like its namesake, it was intended to release mature or non-family games. It was launched in 2007, but after releasing only one game in America and distributing another overseas, Disney quickly shut it down.

1st Logo (June 2007)

Nickname: "The Blue Thunderball"

Logo: On a white background, we see the Touchstone thunderball logo, but in silver blue, with the word "Touchstone" below. At the bottom-right corner of "Touchstone" is the text "(C) Touchstone".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen only on the European version of Anno 1701: Dawn of Discovery for the Nintendo DS; the American version was released by Ubisoft.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (February 5, 2008)

=

Nickname: "The Blue Thunderball II", "The Crystal Thunderball"

Logo: On a black background, we see a spot of blue light revealing the re-designed Touchstone logo from before. The logo shines.

FX/SFX: The light effects and the logo shining.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh sound, followed by some piano notes.

Availability: Rare. It's only seen on the 2008 version of Turok for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Editor's Note: While this logo is simple, it's also pretty nicely-animated and designed. It would be interesting to see how this logo would be used if Disney didn't quickly shut the label down.
